About Robbie Robinson:
Robbie spent many of his formative years in London, Ontario, learning his craft in the early 1960s at such famous London venues as Campbell’s and the Brass Rail Tavern.
Robbie Robertson was one of the most famous people ever in the music industry. He was the virtuoso lead guitarist of the group “The Band”, a fine songwriter and a collaborator on many famous movie soundtracks with director Martin Scorsese.
Robbie Robertson wrote many great songs, but his best was “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down”. Ironically this song led to a rift between Robertson and his famous bandmate and drummer, Levon Helm. All “The Band” members were from Ontario except Levon, who was from the deep south in Arkansas.
