James Thomas McGrath (Jimmy) of Huntington, Connecticut tragically lost his life on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
James died after he was stabbed repeatedly by teenager(s).
On Wednesday, May 18, 2022, a Connecticut teenager was arrested in the connection with James’ horrific murder.
The teen, identified by Shelton police as a 16-year-old from Milford, was taken into custody early Wednesday on charges of murder and three counts of first-degree assault.
Following James’ tragic death, a walk-through visitation will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at the Egan Chapel of Saint Ignatius of Loyola at Fairfield University, 1073 North Benson Rd., Fairfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
James was born on December 18, 2004 to Margaret and Kevin McGrath.
James always had a positive attitude, was loving and showed a lot of care for others.
Many described him as a wonderful happy person who had a very huge heart.
James loved his school, Fairfield Prep, and he excelled as an athlete in every sport he chose.
James played football and lacrosse for Fairfield Prep and as a youth for Shelton and Connecticut Wolves as well.
