Gary Gaines Net Worth At Death, Cause Of Death, Wiki

The Texas High School football coach Gary Gaines passed away in Lubbock at 73 after a prolonged fight with Alzheimer’s disease, according to a statement from his family. As they were already grieved by the loss of their beloved Gary Graines, family has not shared any information regarding the funeral plans. Additionally, he was addressed in Friday Night Lights.

“The legendary Texas coach Graines, who served as the head coach of the Wildcat programme for five years, passed away, as stated by the ACU football team. We are offering the Gaines family our sorrow.”

Gaine was born on May 4th, 1949; his wife is named Sharon Gaines; they have two children and five grandchildren. He was appointed to the Texas High School Association Hall of Honor in 2013 and the Hall of Honor at Angelo State University in 2019.

Gary coached two schools and eight colleges. In Texas, he coached numerous teams throughout his 30-year career, but the most well-known was the four-year, wildly successful Odessa Permian programme. From 2009 to 2021, Gain resumed coaching.

His team is featured in the 1988 edition of the best-selling book Friday Night Light by author H.G. Bissinger, which emphasizes the value of football over academics and examines racial and ethnic diversity in America.

The book, which portrayed the Graines as an empathic coach trapped in a high school program’s win-at-all-costs culture in football-crazed Texas, was also remade into a TV series.

Permian lost in the state playoffs in 1988. It included the loss of James “Boobie” Miles, a great running back, who suffered a knee injury during a preseason game. The movie included a lot of Miles’ characters.

Gary Graine was a well-known figure who earned much of his money from his job as a coach at several high schools and colleges. Gains’ estimated net worth at the time of his death was around $5 million.
